We were asked to creat a conceptual chess board. The chess board below is made of glass with the checkers sandblasted on. The board is hung vertically and the pieces are symbols drawn on by dry erase markers. The key of symbols is etched in the bottom panel of the glass.
The concept can be applied to public parks. In that case the board would be installed horizontally and made of plexi glass. This way people would only need to carry a dry erase marker with them instead of a set of pieces.
